Panna Cotta 🍮

   One of the recipe that’s very close to my heart is panna cotta, i used to make it myself  for customers at an italian restaurant where i worked, and it was always one of the most loved desserts, it’s simple in ingredients, yet smooth and elegant in taste-and you can add your own special touch with fruit or sauce, today, i’m excited to share with you my personal recipe that always turned out perfect and brought a touch of fine Italian dining to the table.

Panna Cotta is a classic Italian dessert known for its creamy texture and delicate flavors, it is surprisingly easy to make, yet it always impressed guests with its elegance, if you’re looking for a simple recipe to make this delicious treat at home, you’ve come to the right place! This recipe will guide you step by step on how to prepare the best panna Cotta with a refreshing red berry 🍓 🫐 coulis topping .

 Ingredients:

500 ml of cooking cream ( heavy cream )

50 grams of granulated sugar 

9 gelatin sheets ( or 9 grams powder gelatin)

1 teablespoon of vanilla sugar

100 grams of  fresh raspberries 

100 grams of strawberries 

50 grams of granulated sugar (for the coulis ) 

10 grams of lemon juice ( freshly squeezed ) 

Preparation Method:

Step 1: preparing the red berry 🫐 🍓 coulis :

 To make a refreshing berry coulis that complement the rich Panna Cotta, start by preparing the red berry sauce, take the fresh raspberries and strawberries and place them into a saucepan, add 50 grams of granulated sugar and 10 grams of freshly squeezed lemon juice, cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruits soften and release their juices, afterward, use a blender or immersion blender to puree the mixture into a smooth sauce.

To thichen the coulis, soak 3 sheets of gelatin in cold water for a few minutes, once softened, add the gelatin to the hot fruit mixture and stir well to combine, allow the sauce to cool before transferring it to the refrigerator to chill until needed, this will give the coulis a perfect consistency when served.

Step 2 : preparing the gelatin sheets:

 While the coulis is chilling, prepare the gelatin, soak 9 gelatin sheets in clod water and let them sit for about 5 minutes to soften,once softened squeeze out any excess water from the gelatin sheets  and set them aside, if you’re using powdered gelatin, simply dissolves the required amount in a little bit of cold water and set aside.

Step 3 : preparing the panna Cotta: 

 In a medium saucepan, pour 500 ml of heavy cream and add 50 grams of granulated sugar, place the saucepan over low heat and stir gently until the sugar dissolves completely, allow the cream to heat up, but do not bring it to a boil.

Once the cream is heated, add 6 sheets of soaked gelatin (or the dissolved, for an extra touch of flavors, add 1 tablespoons of vanilla sugar or a few drops of vanilla extract.

Once the mixture is fully combined, strain it through a fine sieve into a bowl to remove any lumps or undissolved gelatin pieces, pour the strained mixture into individual serving cups or ramekins.

Step 4 : chilling and serving :

 Allow the panna cotta to cool slightly before transferring it to the refrigerator, let it set for about 4 hours, or until the panna Cotta is firm and has a smooth, velvety texture 

Once the panna cotta has set, it’s time to serve, top each panna Cotta with the chilled red berry coulis and garnish with a few fresh raspberries and a couple of mint leaves for an added touch of color and flavors, the creamy panna Cotta combined with the tangy berry coulis will delight your taste buds and make for an unforgettable dessert experience.
